Ctrl+Alt+Backspace
Rhakios - February 17, 2009 @ 8:07pm
OpenSUSE have done something similar to Ubuntu, but instead of completely disabling the Ctrl+Alt+Backspace shortcut, they have made it so that if you hit this sequence once, the computer beeps (as it does when you enter an invalid command in a terminal), only if you hit a second time does it kill the X server.
This strikes as a much better option: you can still kill X if you really want to, but those who happen to hit unlikely keyboard combinations by accident (or who have a clever cat) don't have to worry so much about it happening accidentally.
